Kilmann Diagnostics Announces BASIC Training in Conflict Management for the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument

Before Kilmann Diagnostics (KD) developed its 80-minute online course for the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI), trainers and consultants only had access to some sketchy information on how to effectively use the TKI with their clients. Other than what was provided in the brief TKI booklet itself, respondents and their facilitators had little choice but to interpret conflict scores without the benefit of a TKI training programlet alone a workshop or course that was provided by one of the co-authors of the instrument.

Dr. Ralph Kilmann, the CEO and Senior Consultant of KD, recently commented on his rationale for developing BASIC Training in Conflict Management: Over the years, I was invited to attend quite a few presentations on the TKI and how consultants then interpreted their clients TKI results. While some of these presentations were perfectly in line with what Ken Thomas and I had intended for our assessment, many times the consultants presented our TKI Conflict Model very differently from what we would have done. And when these well-intentioned consultants interpreted their clients results in a workshop, I was often saddened to see that the deeper meaning behind the TKI was not provided and the scores were not interpreted in an entirely accurate manner. I couldnt fault these consultants and trainers for such disparities, since they had no other choice but to use the limited materials that were available to them at the time.

"But finally, last year, I decided that it was my responsibility to make sure that the TKI would be used and interpreted as Ken and I had intended from the start. This resolution, along with the sudden availability of e-learning technologies, motivated me to develop a recorded online course that participants could now hearin my own voice and in my own wordsexactly how I administer and interpret the TKI. In fact, in my 80-minute BASIC course, I interpret six radically different TKI profiles, using an expanded TKI Conflict Model, just so participants will receive a broad-based training for using the TKI in a great variety of settings.

The fee for the 80-minute BASIC course is $195, which includes a 30-page, professionally designed, Course Manual. The group rate, if 10 or more courses are purchased at the same time, is $175 per person. Since the course is recorded, it can be watched any day, any time, any place, and at a convenient pace.
