Kekus Updates Panotools Photoshop Plugins

New version gets LensFix distortion corrector By Dave Nagel
Kekus Digital has released an update to Panotools, a collection of plugins for Adobe Photoshop based on Helmut Dersch's Panorama Tools. The new version includes an additional filter called LensFix. It's available now for Mac OS X.

Panotools 1.1 includes five individual plugins for working with panoramic images, correcting (or applying) lens distortions and adjusting perspective. The new release includes a LensFix filter, which includes a database of preset corrections for Nikon and Sigma lenses. The company says additional lens correction sets will be posted as they become available, and users can also apply their own settings. The filter also corrects chromatic variations and vignetting.

Other filters in the Panotools collection include Remap, which allows users to converts between image projection types (normal, QTVR, PSphere, Fisheye and Convex Mirror); Adjust, which creates panoramas and also extracts partial images from stitched panoramas; and Perspective, which changes the orientation of an image. Correct, an image distortion filter, is still included in the collection, though its functionality has been incorporated into LensFix.

Panotools 1.1 is available now for $39.95. It supports Adobe Photoshop 7 running on Mac OS X. For more information, visit
