Keith Olsen to Direct Mackie's Product Development for Recording and BroadcastOversees new international Market Development Team (November 27, 2001)
This new position gives him authority over a new international Market Development Team that focuses exclusively on the recording, post production and broadcast markets. Olsens team will have members located all over the world that will together develop and market products for all Mackie Designs Inc. brands including Mackie, Soundscape and Acuma.
?Im very excited to be working with Keith, who is truly a veteran of music production and an accomplished recording engineer, states Lori Stutsman, Executive Vice President of Marketing for Mackie Designs Inc. ?Keith has been responsible for some of the most recognizable recordings in modern music and brings to Mackie practical, real-world experience combined with a with an in-depth understanding of audio electronics and design.
Keith joined Mackie in 1999 after 25 years as a producer and recording engineer. One of the top five producers of all time in numbers of albums sold at retail, Keith is responsible for more than 39 gold or better albums, 24 Platinum or better and 14 Multi-platinum or better. He has sold more than 100 million albums with revenues totaling more than 1 billion dollars. His credits include albums by Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, Santana, Ozzy Osborne, Sammy Hagar and many more. His film credits include Flashdance, Footloose, Vision Quest, Tron and Top Gun.
Since joining Mackie as Director of Recording Product Development, Keith has played an integral role in the development of Mackies new family of hard disk recorders (HDR24/96, MDR24/96), as well as the implementation of industry standards such as synchronization and file formats. Keith was also involved in the third-party plug-in strategy for the Digital 8?Bus.
Mackies newly formed Market Development Teams bring worldwide market management and product development resources from the Companys many brands together in order to better communicate, exchange ideas, share technology and bring innovative products to market more quickly. Each team is dedicated to one of Mackies primary market segments?Recording, Live/Sound Reinforcement and Contracting. Membership of each team reads like a ?whos who of audio industry talent.
