Keith Johnston Joins Concrete Pictures As Creative DirectorJohnston to bring a robust background in CGI animation (June 28, 2005)
Further enhancing its core group of talented creative executives, Concrete Pictures has enlisted former GTN CGI Director Keith Johnston for the role of Creative Director. In this position, Johnston will identify and lead new business efforts, maintain agency relationships, improve overall creative quality and efficiency, and design and produce animation for broadcast brands and commercial visual effects projects. An award winner himself, Johnston joins Concrete Pictures celebrated creative team, a group of dynamic artistic visionaries who have earned multiple honors for their work, including several Emmy Awards.
?With his management skills and command of CGI, Keith will make an excellent addition to our team, said Miles Dinsmoor, Concrete Pictures Senior Vice President of Production. ?We wanted someone whose robust visual effects background could take our projects to the next level, and he fit the bill perfectly.
Prior to joining Concrete Pictures, Johnston was CGI Director, Visual Effects for GTN, Inc., where his work involved management, animation production and new business development, among other key roles. He was responsible for creating GMs first photorealistic virtual automobile fleet for print and brought Michelins racing cars to the screen, entirely computer generated from nothing more than toy models. These projects earned him extensive recognition in the automotive industry.
Johnstons rich background also includes creative posts with The Underground World, Inc., Bostons WGBH-TV, Fast Cuts Incorporated and Expert Software, Inc., all of which have honed and diversified his talents. Additionally, he has completed many high-profile freelance projects for ESPN, Gillette, and New Balance; has taught several university courses in design and technology; and has won numerous awards for his work.
