Kathy Ireland to Star in the Upcoming Original Holiday Movie(July 19, 2001)
It was also announced that Tibor Takacs will direct from a screenplay written by Steve Berman, who is also serving as an Executive Producer on the project. Filming is scheduled to begin this week in Vancouver, B.C.
Last year "Once Upon A Christmas" became PAX's top-rated telefilm. It delivered 2.5 million viewers and a 1.4 HH rating -- a record high in the time period. In PAX metered markets, highlights included Greensboro (4.3), Louisville (3.9), New York (2.5), Los Angeles (2.1) and Chicago (2.7). As a result, "Twice Upon A Christmas" will be a centerpiece to PAX TV's" Countdown to Christmas" -- 19 festive nights full of primetime movies, specials and holiday-themed episodes of PAX weekly series beginning Thursday, December 6 through December 24.
Edward Wessex will return as Executive Producer for Ardent Productions. Rejoining Wessex, Roseberry and Berman from the production team from "Once Upon A Christmas" is Erik Sterling and Jason Winters of Sterling/Winters Company Studios, who will serve as Executive Producers. Jon Carrasco of Sterling/Winters Company Studios and Deboragh Gabler of Legacy Filmworks will also again serve as Producers.
Reprising their roles from the first movie are actors Kathy Ireland, John Dye and Mary Donnelly Haskell. Ireland will again play "Kristin", Santa Claus' youngest daughter, opposite love interest Dye (as "Bill Morgan") and Haskell as "Rudolfa," the older scheming sister of "Kristin."
The sequel centers on the marriage proposal by "Bill" (Dye) to "Kristin" (Ireland) at the opening of the movie. But, with no memory of her past or identity, "Kristin" can't marry "Bill" until she gets the answers. Meanwhile, with her sister not in the way to stop her, "Rudolfa" has devised a new scheme to destroy Christmas for good by selling off pieces of the North Pole. When all has been sold, "Rudolfa" has planned the construction of a gambling resort, leaving Santa out in the cold. When "Kristin" finally regains her memory, it's up to her again to find a way to save Christmas from her sister's nefarious plan and be back in time to have her wedding day.
Ireland has starred on stage in Edward Albee's Pulitzer prize-winning play "Three Tall Women" and most recently was seen in television episodes of "For Your Love" and "Touched By An Angel." Dye continues to be a series regular on "Touched By An Angel." His additional television credits include the ABC series "Jack's Place" and NBC mini-series "Billionaire Boys Club." Haskell had recurring roles on the long running NBC series "Sisters" and Nickelodeon's "The Secret World of Alex Mack" and was most recently seen in a highly rated film on Lifetime, "Blue Valley Songbird" with Dolly Parton. Ireland, Dye and Haskell are represented by the William Morris Agency.
