Kaseya Earns Internationally Recognized Common Criteria Certification Achieving Stringent Government Security Standards(March 13, 2012)
ARLINGTON, VA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/13/12 -- Kaseya®, the leading global provider of automated IT systems management software, today announced that Kaseya Virtual System Administrator (VSA) has completed evaluation for an EAL2+ certification under the Communications-Electronics Security Group (CESG) in the United Kingdom. "Kaseya has been actively pursuing this important certification in order to qualify for important government contracts globally," said Mark Sutherland, president and co-founder, Kaseya. "Kaseya has always been a highly secure system. Common Criteria certification brings independent validation of that claim streamlining the procurement process. With this certification, organizations can now easily acquire Kaseya solutions to improve service levels, meet security requirements around the globe, all while safeguarding the integrity and availability of sensitive information."
Common Criteria is an internationally recognized set of guidelines (ISO 15408), which defines a common framework for evaluating security features and capabilities of information technology security products. The standard consists of several predetermined evaluation assurance levels, each one more stringent than the last. Common Criteria allows vendors to have their products tested against a chosen level by an independent third-party testing laboratory. The Common Criteria Mutual Recognition Agreement (CCRA) is a pact that was designed to allow all evaluations up to an evaluation assurance level (EAL) 4, to be recognized by all participating countries, regardless of where the evaluation was completed. There are currently 26 countries involved in the CCRA, with many others that follow unofficially. Many organizations around the world mandate Common Criteria certification for all information technology systems.
