Jury deliberates Houston police teen beating caseJury deliberates case against ex-Houston police officer accused in videotaped beating of teen
HOUSTON (AP) ' Jurors are deliberating for a second day in the case of a former Houston police officer accused of taking part in the videotaped beating of a 15-year-old burglary suspect.
Jurors resumed deliberations Wednesday morning in the trial of Andrew Blomberg who is charged with official oppression in the arrest of Chad Holley in March 2010.
Holley testified that officers beat and kicked him so much that he briefly lost consciousness. The 29-year-old Blomberg said Holley was resisting arrest.
The jurors deliberated for nearly five hours Tuesday without reaching a verdict.
Blomberg, who could face up to a year in jail if convicted, is the first of four fired police officers to stand trial for their alleged roles in the incident.
