A New Manual Makes it Easier By Rob Garrott

New Joints and Skin Manual is icing on the cake for an already intuitive set of tools.

Its long been a complaint of the C4D community that we didnt have very good character tools. Cactus Dan Libisch wiped out all those arguments almost overnight with the release of his plug-in Joints and Skin (J&S)

J&S is part of the CD Character Bundle Pro plug-ins which consist of CD Joints & Skin, CD IK Tools, CD Morph, and CD Constraints. While J&S works as a stand alone plug-in, it really works best in concert with all of its lil Cactus buddies.


This amazing plug-in consists of a new joint tool  and a series of commands, tags and conversion tools that allow you to add joints (bones) to your characters that behave in a much more industry standard way.  The joint objects themselves look a lot like Mayas icon.

Once created, joints can be skinned to your character mesh using the CD bind skin tool and then weight maps can be adjusted using the CD paint skin weight tool.

The real power and beauty of J&S is that it completely bypasses Mocca. So you dont even need the Mocca module installed. Cactus Dan has single handedly made C4D into a truly viable character animation package with tools that behave in an intuitive and predictable way. YEAH DAN!!!
