John C. Lincoln Signs With iSirona for Medical Device IntegrationPhoenix-Based Health Network to Streamline Delivery of Device Data to Epic CIS (November 09, 2011)
PANAMA CITY, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 11/09/11 -- iSirona®, a provider of simplified solutions for medical device integration, today announced that the John C. Lincoln Health Network has signed an agreement to implement iSirona's device connectivity solution. An acclaimed health system that includes two hospitals, physician practices and community outreach programs, John C. Lincoln will leverage iSirona's technology to deliver patient data from its medical devices to its Epic clinical information system.
Device integration addresses an age-old problem: now, nurses can review and authenticate automated data, rather than having to enter it by hand. This process is much less time-consuming than manual data entry, and it ensures data quality. Unlike other solutions, iSirona's solution is software-based, is easy to implement and requires minimal training.
"To provide value to Lincoln's physicians and care providers, our EMR needs to contain real-time, accurate data about our patients, and the most logical way to accomplish that is through device integration," explains Robert Slepin, CIO at John C. Lincoln. "iSirona's software-based approach will allow us to quickly and easily accomplish that integration so we can deliver high-quality data to the EMR -- and at the same time, allow clinicians to spend less time on documentation and more time on direct patient care."
"Clinicians across the country are using our device connectivity technology to create a solid footing from which accurate, timely data can be delivered to the EMR," says Peter Witonsky, president of iSirona. "We are pleased that John C. Lincoln will soon be experiencing these same benefits."
Panama City, Florida-based iSirona helps clinicians make more informed decisions about patients by providing an easy to use approach to medical device integration. Using iSirona's software solution, hospitals can connect virtually any medical device to their CIS, providing clinicians with faster access to more accurate patient information.
