Jody Gray Scores Cartoon Network Feature The Tower of Dr. Zalost

Movie premieres on The Cartoon Network January 11 By DMN Staff Writer
Composer Jody Gray has scored the Cartoon Network's coming feature, The Tower of Dr. Zalost, a Stretch Films production from director John Dilworth.

The Tower of Dr. Zalost , a telefilm of the Cartoon Network favorite, "Courage the Cowardly Dog" screened at the 2001 International Animated Film Society Annual Festival, where it received the First Place Award in the "Sponsored Film" category. The movie premieres on the Cartoon Network January 11th.

The film is a story of a mad scientist disgruntled with the town of Nowhere. The scientist, Dr. Zalost, bombards the town with sad bombs from his traveling tower, leaving the citizens depressed. Now, it is up to Courage to save the day.

Jody Gray, who drew considerable attention for his scoring for "Courage the Cowardly Dog," has also completed scores for CBS Sports Spectacular orchestral theme, HBO's controversial documentary feature, Death By Hanging: A Family's Pledge of Allegiance, Cartoon Network's "The Chuck Jones Show" and dozens of TV programs, ads and on-air promotions.

Gray is currently scoring and writing songs for Scholastic Entertainment's animated musical, "Stellaluna," new animated shorts for Sesame Street's popular "Noodles & Nedd" and 26 original "Looney Tunes" for Warner Bros. online. This spring, Gray's talents will be displayed with the release of "Good Love Gone Bad," a duet recorded by Ray Charles and Gloria Gaynor. The single, being released worldwide by Sony, was written with Italian superstar Toto Cutogno.
