Interview with Maxon's Paul Babb

Paul descibes how Cinema 4D and Adobe CS3 work together By David Basulto

I really wanted to learn to work with 3D apps. I tried them all, or so I thought, to no avail. Did I need to go back to college and super size my math knowledge? I shuddered at the thought. Surely there must be an application out there that will let me just design and animate and not be a rocket scientist.

Luckily for me, fate has a way of working itself out.

It was a Tuesday and I decided to drag my wife to the Motion Graphics LA meeting held once a month. It cost me a nice dinner too. That night there was a company called Maxon there showing an app called Cinema 4D. To say the skies broke open and the angels began to sing is an understatement. ?Wow I get this! I cried. As soon as the meeting was over I went home and downloaded a demo copy. I was sold.

Over the next few months I immersed myself into the wonderful world of Cinema 4D and built my first 3D model, a ladybug. My wife thinks it was for our nephew but I was the one who got the most of it. I was a 3D man now.

Todays show I have the pleasure of interviewing Mr. Maxon himself, Paul Babb. We talk about the integration with Adobe and some other great stuff. Enjoy.
