Interface Masters Technologies Introduces Dual Port Fiber 10 Gigabit Server Adapter Bypass Cards Based on Intel's 82599 Ethernet Controller

Niagara 32711 and Niagara 32710 NICs Support Two 10 GbE Fiber SFP+ Connectors for Multi-Mode or Single-Mode Connectivity, up to 40 Gbps of Throughput, High-Availability Failover and PCI-e Gen2 (September 21, 2009)

SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/21/09 -- Interface Masters Technologies, an industry leader and innovator in networking solutions, has announced additional members of its 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GE) Server Adapter Card family that are designed to integrate with PCI-express (PCI-e) based Inline Networking Servers, including WAN Acceleration, UTM, and IPS Systems, and Security and Monitoring Appliances such as Firewalls, IDS systems, and Analysis Probes. The Niagara 32711 and 32710 server adapters are low power Dual Port 10 GbE NICs, with SFP pluggable modules for Multi-Mode and Single-Mode Fiber media, based on Intel's latest ethernet controller, the 82599. Niagara 32710 supports failover and Network bypass.

The new Niagara 32711 and Niagara 32710 10 GE NICs are based on the latest 10GE Intel 82599 Gigabit Ethernet Controller, which provides PCI-e 2.0 (5 GT/s) support, 100/1000/10Gbps auto-negotiation capabilities, low power 6.2W operation, and 128 Transmit (Tx) and Receive (Rx) Queues. The 82599 also offers specialized features including enhanced virtualization support, layer 2 & 3 security including IPSec & LinkSec, Intel® I/OAT Acceleration v3.0, VLAN Tagging, Stripping and Packet Filtering, FCoE Transmit, Segmentation and offload, and SNMP and RMON statistic counters. Intel's 82599 also possesses a variety of time manageability interfaces including RMII, SMBus, PXE, iSCSI Boot.

The Niagara 32710 low-profile, dual port 10G fiber server adapter card with bypass is designed for high-availability server applications that demand premium performance and maximum uptime. The bypass feature, upon power failure or power loss, allows network traffic to continue by re-routing traffic from the transmit port directly to the receive port. This creates a closed loop that bypasses the down appliance, ensuring that network uptime is maintained.
