Intelleflex Temperature Monitoring Technology Featured in Presentations at Food Safety Conferences in the Asia-Pacific RegionReal-Time Temperature Monitoring of Perishables -- With Focus on Food Security and Safety -- to Be Key Topic at GS1 Supply Chain Management Excellence Summit and Asia-Pacific Business Symposium (November 08, 2011)
SANTA CLARA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/08/11 -- Intelleflex Corporation, a leader in on-demand data visibility for the fresh produce cold chain, today announced that its XC3 Temperature Monitoring Readers and Tags will be highlighted in presentations by food safety experts at the GS1 Supply Chain Management (SCM) Excellence Summit in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific Business Symposium PBEC/EWC Conference in Honolulu this week.
At the GS1 SCM Excellence Summit, Dr. John M. Ryan, president of Ryan Systems and former director of the State of Hawaii's award-winning food traceability project, will speak in a plenary session on Modern Logistics Management, detailing a pilot project by Intelleflex, Global Tracking Systems, Asia Pallet Pooling, and GS1 Hong Kong to architect and test a powerful temperature tracking system built around Intelleflex XC3 readers and tags. The system is designed to allow low-cost, on-demand temperature monitoring for today's agricultural, pharmacological and other cold chains, and to maximize the delivered freshness of perishable foods and the potency and efficacy of biopharmaceuticals.
At the Asia-Pacific Business Symposium, Stan Tseng, president and founder of Global Tracking Systems, will join fellow food safety experts in a panel titled Food Security and Food Safety. The panel will address the urgent need to build the capacity to produce, access, and distribute safe food in the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Community) region, and to develop appropriate food safety regulations. Mr. Tseng will also be reviewing data from a recent study tracking the temperature of produce from Taiwan to Hawaii and Los Angeles to Hawaii. The panel will be chaired by Colleen Hanabusa, Representative to the U.S. Congress from the state of Hawaii. Mr. Tseng will focus on the global tracking of perishable foods, with an emphasis on deploying real-time-monitoring tools such as Intelleflex XC3 readers and tags for maximizing delivered freshness of produce. Joining Mr. Tseng on the panel will be Dr. Catherine Woteki, USDA Chief Scientist and Under Secretary for Research, Education, and Economics; and Daniel Piccuta, Foreign Policy Advisor for the U.S. Pacific Command.
