NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 04/17/12 -- Information Builders, a leader in business intelligence (BI), information integrity, and integration solutions, today announced the introduction of sophisticated sentiment analysis capabilities into its WebFOCUS Magnify enterprise search platform. One of the first BI products to offer this capability, WebFOCUS Magnify's sentiment analysis will be powered by Wand Taxonomy, the industry-leading structured multi-lingual vocabulary for precision search. As a result, Magnify enables users to increase sales opportunities and decrease churn by automatically and accurately gauging the perceptions of customers and prospects and factoring that information into overall sales, marketing, support, and customer communications strategy.
Conventional methods of gauging sentiment, such as social media, surveys, and experience-based feedback can be expensive, time-consuming, and difficult to measure in real time. Magnify automates this process by using the Wand Taxonomy server to classify and score content using a consistent set of rules and algorithms.
WebFOCUS Magnify search includes natural language processing for performing sentiment analysis on any mix of structured and unstructured content, including from social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Content can even be compared against data in customer relationship management (CRM) and other enterprise systems to enhance knowledge bases and discover new trends and patterns. As Magnify indexes content, it calls the Wand Taxonomy server to determine the content's overall expressed feeling as positive, negative, or neutral, and returns a score to Magnify. Magnify stores the score with each search result and displays it as part of the Magnify-faceted navigation. This allows users to filter search based on the information's overall tone.
