Infor Partners With Amazon Web Services to Help Customers Reach the CloudInfor10 Business Cloud Applications Provide Full Functionality Without Costly IT Infrastructure (April 24, 2012)
NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 04/24/12 -- Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, today announced an expanded relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS), a company that is the leader in providing cloud services related to Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Infor will use AWS's capabilities to help customers leverage the cloud for improving how Infor10 Business Cloud applications are deployed and managed. Deploying Infor applications in the cloud through AWS enables customers to access functionality that helps keep their business running effectively, without the costly IT infrastructure and concerns required to maintain software on-premises.
"The cloud is a fantastic tool that can be used in many ways to improve the way that systems are installed, tested, and maintained," said Mark Thacker, SVP Business Cloud, Infor. "With over 2 million subscribers already in the cloud, Infor customers are demonstrating the desire for full application functionality without having to manage the infrastructure. Support for multi-tenant SaaS, hosted and hybrid deployments give our customers flexibility, and working with the industry leader, in AWS, enables customers to quickly deploy Infor applications into the cloud with a push of a button on our Infor10 Business Cloud Portal."
AWS capabilities can be used for many purposes:
- Deploying production environments
- Deploying and testing new versions of Infor solutions
- Testing customizations before deploying the customizations to a production environment
- Starting an implementation immediately instead of having to wait until servers are ordered, shipped, and installed for on-premises deployments
- Dedicated Hosting where each customer has their own servers running their own instance of the application
- Disaster Recovery sites
"We are delighted to be working with one of the leading providers of enterprise software and being part of the Infor Cloud reference architecture," said Terry Wise, Director of Business Development for Amazon Web Services."The scalable, on-demand, pay-as-you-go nature of AWS has provided Infor the opportunity to easily deploy new instances of Infor's industry application suites in the cloud, offering customers the ability to try and buy these apps and auto scale them based on the demands of their business."
"One of the beauties of having these environments in the cloud is that they can be deployed in minutes, used for a temporary purpose, and taken down very quickly," said Jim Plourde, VP Cloud Operations, Infor. "Since AWS's capabilities are so robust, customers can also choose to keep the environments running perpetually, using them as their production environment managed by our ICS-Applications Management Services team or managed by the customer themselves. Another strength that AWS has is that they have sites in multiple geographies located in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. The strength of the offering provides us with another option for setting up new multi-tenant SaaS sites in other geographies instead of having to setup our own infrastructure as we have in the past."
Infor is the world's third-largest supplier of enterprise applications and services, helping more than 70,000 large and mid-size companies improve operations and drive growth across numerous industry sectors. To learn more about Infor, please visit www.infor.com.
