Industry Veterans Fuse Into Switch VFXNew studio specializing in seamless reality and photorealistic effects (August 19, 2004)
Jon Campfens, award-winning VFX supervisor, announced the recent formation of Switch VFX, a visual effects studio specializing in seamless reality and photorealistic effects for high end feature films and television.
Switch VFX was established in early 2004 by Jon Campfens, Pete Denomme, executive producer and former president of Calibre Digital Pictures, a visual effects and animation studio, Laurie Thompson, business exec and former CFO of Alliance Communications Corporation, and Claude Chiasson, President of Yowza Animation, a traditional feature film animation studio.
Though a newly established studio, Switch VFX, with its well-respected and experienced principals, has already been able to attract top caliber talent. Gudrun Heinze, Discreet Inferno and Flame visual effects artist, David Alexander, senior 3D animator, Mark Fordham, matte painter, and Ricky Lim, 3D animator, are some of the artists who have already joined the team.
?Our aim is to build a small core of exceptionally talented individuals, continued Campfens. ?In the short time we have been up and running, we have already begun to make a name for ourselves.
Switch VFX has just completed the Fox Sci-Fi pilot Anonymous Rex, and now moves into pre-production on the independent feature film Beowulf & Grendel, as well as the series Sword and the Sorcerer.
