InSpeck inc., a leader in the 3D digitizing market, has officially announced today the sale of a 3D Mega Full Body digitizing system to Digital Media Center (DMC) for use in Hong Kongs Cyberport. The specialized 3D digitizing equipment will be available to all of Hong Kongs small and medium enterprises for projects such as animation, multi-media film production, distance learning, software development and many more.
?We chose InSpeck because of its cutting-edge digitizing technology which has been used in many major motion picture productions as well as the innovative features of its products, said Dr. Krates Ng, DMC Manager, Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited. ?We also selected InSpecks 3D Mega Full Body over other competing 3D digitizing systems because of the high quality results it generates. All of Hong Kongs SME will benefit from having such powerful tools at their disposal and their satisfaction will reflect well on us. concludes Dr. Ng.
?We are happy that Digital Media Center gave us the opportunity to demonstrate our know-how. Our products already enjoy a healthy reputation throughout the 3D industry as being the standard in 3D human scanning. It is now the Center that will benefit from that reputation as well as all of Hong Kongs creative companies, says Chris Rochefort, InSpecks Sales Director.
DMC's 3D scanning service has already been used in the new opening of the program "Trendy Guide" of Phoenix Satellite Television. The "Trendy Guide" show has an influential distribution of over 44 million TV homes. "The production technologies like motion capture and 3D scanning were known for many years. Yet, the use of 3D scanning technologies in Hong Kong were limited to the big budget productions, hardly ever been used for local TV productions. Digital Media Center ushered in the top of the line 3D scanning solution from InSpeck that will help to reduce production costs and save time. Moreover, DMC gave a buzz to the Hong Kong media players by providing the services and support of such technologies in their productions. says Victor Yau, Director of Production and Deputy Head of Phoenix InfoNews Channel, Phoenix Satellite Television Co. Ltd.
The InSpeck 3D Mega Full Body, which is the core of DMCs scanning service, consists of 6 mega-pixel 3D digitizers placed around a person. Connected together, the digitizers capture the subjects 3D geometry (shape) and texture (color). The resulting high-resolution polygonal model can be used in various applications that range from videogame development and computer animation to medical imaging and research.
