InFocus, Skytron Partner for Mall Television Network(July 25, 2001)
Under the terms of the partnership, InFocus will provide Skytron with high-end rear projection systems that will be incorporated into Skytron ceiling suspended units. These InFocus systems are HDTV compatible and offer 2500 ANSI lumens of brightness, XGA resolution and a 700:1 contrast ratio. InFocus has also made a strategic investment in Skytron to support the expansion of the Skytron Mall Network to 560 malls across the United States within a few years.
InFocus' alliance with Skytron not only creates a significant customer relationship, it allows InFocus to reach a unique consumer market through rights to advertising and programming content, as well as co-branding on Skytron units. Skytron Mall Television Network's programming includes news, sporting events, music, entertainment, fashion, travel, and other lifestyle topics. The network provides product manufacturers and other advertisers a vehicle to reach millions of consumers each month while they are shopping.
The Skytron Network, the first large screen national point of purchase programming and advertising vehicle, debuted in late 1999. Currently, the Skytron Network is seen by over 170 million viewers per year, with aggressive expansion planned for this year to provide advertisers the first national point of purchase mall network. Within the next 6 months the network will have 635 million viewers annually in the top 100 markets. The Skytron Network is part of Skytron Corporation, the leader in unique display technology for trade shows and events. The company is headquartered in Irvine, California.
