InFocus Lowers Price on X1 Projector

InFocus today announced new pricing for its X1 digital projector. The X1 is a single-chip DLP projector originally offered at $1,699 when it debuted late last year. It will now sell for $999.

The InFocus X1 is a portable business projector weighing in at 6.8 pounds. It offers SVGA resolution, a brightness of 1,000 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of 2,000:1. The model includes Faroudja's DCDiTM video processing technology and a 0.55 DMD chip from Texas Instruments. Other features include:

  • 3,000-hour lamp life;
  • Zoom lens with manual focus;
  • Zoom lens (1.2:1) with manual focus and zoom adjust;
  • Compatibility with NTSC, PAL, SECAM, EDTV and HDTV (1080i and 720p);
  • Connections for computer, S-video and composite video, with component video supported through an S-video adapter.
