Immersion Offers 30-Day 3D Design Software Trial(September 04, 2001)
VirtualHand Studio is an intuitive software tool used by designers for verifying, testing and evaluating 3D digital models in real-time. This software converts data from the subtle movement of the physical hand into a graphical hand, letting the user interact with 3D objects. It also allows for the direct import of 3D data from multiple sources, such as 3D Studio MAX and OpenFlight, to construct functional digital 3D prototypes. 3D designers can directly interact with these prototypes using either a standard mouse or more sophisticated 3D input device, such as Immersion's CyberGlove family of whole-hand sensing and interactive products. After the 30-day trial period, designers will have the opportunity to take advantage of a 30% discount towards the purchase of the software. Interested designers should contact Immersion at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 408/350-8824.
Immersion Corporation, through its acquisition of Virtual Technologies, Inc., is a leader in state-of-the-art whole-hand sensing, force feedback and real-time 3D interaction technologies that allow the user to "reach in" and physically interact with simulated computer content. Immersion's 3D Interaction hardware and software products have a wide range of applications for virtual prototyping, motion capture, training and simulation.
Founded in 1993, Immersion Corp. develops and licenses advanced hardware and software technologies that let people use their sense of touch to better interact with the digital world around them. Immersion's haptic technology can be applied to virtually every digital experience including personal computing, entertainment, medical training, automotive interfaces, and three-dimensional simulation. Immersion's patented TouchSense(TM) technologies can dramatically improve a computer users' performance and productivity by unlocking their sense of touch and allowing them to feel what they see and do on the computer screen. Immersion's medical simulation systems allow healthcare professionals to improve their procedural skills and increase patient safety by using 'digital patients'. Immersion and its wholly owned subsidiaries hold over 100 issued patents worldwide.
