INtools Technical Forum 2001 Announced

The fifth annual INtools Technical Forum 2001 is scheduled Thurs., Sept. 13, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Fluor Daniel Lake Point Plaza office in Sugar Land, Tex. For users of Intergraph INtools instrumentation engineering software, the event is sponsored by the Process and Power Client Community (P2C2) and is underwritten by the Process & Building Solutions division of Intergraph Corporation . The event helps promote more effective use of INtools as an integrated life cycle engineering tool. Users discuss technical issues of mutual interest and learn about the latest version of the software.

The agenda includes demonstrations of INtools 5.2 as well as SmartPlant(r) Explorer 3.3, which provides enterprise access and reporting for both INtools and SmartPlant P&ID 2.2 data. Instrumentation engineers from Fluor Daniel and other customer companies will present their experiences in applying INtools software and services to a variety of projects. Participants also will preview SmartPlant Electrical, integrated, data-centric electrical engineering software, scheduled for future release.

INtools ( instrumentation design and engineering software includes integrated modules for instrument indexes, specifications, process data, calculation, wiring, loop drawings, hook-ups, commissioning, calibration and maintenance. INtools supports fieldbus and covers all phases of the facility life cycle, from design and construction to maintenance including modernization and retrofits. Using Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or Sybase SQL Anywhere databases, the software features data links to external systems, including the Intergraph Plant Design System (PDS), Intergraph SmartPlant P&ID, Intergraph SmartPlant Explorer, SAP R/3, non-Intergraph plant design software, vendor calculation packages and distributed control systems.
