ICE director praises 2 agents involved in shooting

ICE director says 2 agents involved in office shooting showed incredible fortitude' By The Associated Press

LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) ' The national director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has praised two agents who were involved in a workplace shooting that left one agent dead and one wounded.

John Morton said at a news conference Friday that the agents never imagined when they came to work that they would be fighting for their lives.

Morton says both men were tested in a dangerous way and showed incredible fortitude.

Morton says he met with wounded agent Kevin Kozak who is doing well and is alive due to his own quick reaction and his iron will to survive.

Morton says he also met with the agent who intervened when supervisor agent Ezequiel Garcia opened fire on Kozak. He says that agent is doing remarkably well under the circumstances.
