IBC 2010: Expanded SDK for DVS Video Boards Atomix and Atomix LT

(September 06, 2010)
DMN Newswire--2010-9-6--Hanover/Amsterdam. At IBC 2010 in Amsterdam, DVS is presenting the latest options for its Atomix series: In addition to the proven DVS Software Development Kit, Atomix and Atomix LT now also support QuickTime SDK and enable direct integration into Final Cut Pro.

From September 10th to the 14th, DVS is showcasing new developments for its Atomix and Atomix LT video boards at booth no. 7.E25. The two newest additions to DVS's renowned boards series cover the requirements of high-end film, HDTV post production and broadcast applications as well as demanding presentations. Atomix's highlights at the IBC in Amsterdam also include support for QuickTime SDK and Final Cut Pro.

Since their launch at this year's NAB, the two Atomix video boards are used where high-performance hardware is required: While Atomix LT handles formats up to 2K, Atomix enables real-time image processing of uncompressed data at any resolution from SD to 4K. The 1D and 3D LUTs lay the groundwork for efficient color management and grading, while the freely programmable upscaler/downscaler can handle various image formats without prior rendering. With their two independent video channels, the Atomix boards support 3D/stereo processing up to 2K.

Right on time for the IBC 2010, the DVS boards are also equipped with an expanded software development kit: In addition to DVS's own powerful SDK, Atomix and Atomix LT are also interoperable with Apple's QuickTime SDK. This allows many Apple Mac applications to benefit from the Atomix boards' high-performance features, such as 3.0 Gbps on both SDI I/Os. Moreover, Atomix and Atomix LT also offer direct integration with Final Cut Pro for compressed and uncompressed formats. Capabilities include real-time recording for formats up to 2K and playout up to 4K. The integrated RS-422 interface can be used to control professional video tape machines for frame-accurate video transmission.

Juergen Heger, DVS Senior Product Manager: "The new features of the Atomix series are even further enhancing the flexibility of our range of video boards. Thanks to its comprehensive features, DVS hardware complements a wide variety of third-party applications to simplify user workflows. Atomix covers high-end film, post production and presentation, while Atomix LT is a perfect match for the broadcast market."
