IB3 Installs Complete Miranda-Based System

Selects Miranda's Master Control, Branding, and Monitoring Systems (March 11, 2005)

Miranda Technologies today announced that IB3, a Mallorca-based TV station in the Balearic Islands and a broadcast network owned by the regional government of the Balearic Islands, is working with Spanish systems integrator Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA) and Miranda's dealer, CROSSPOiNT, to install a complete Miranda master control switching, branding, and monitoring system in a new seven-channel broadcast facility scheduled to go live by the end of Q2 2005.

"In their heavily automated environment, the Miranda systems give the operators highly intuitive control over multiple channels and allow for sophisticated monitoring of all broadcast signals," said Manuel Pérez at CROSSPOiNT. "Miranda's Imagestore/Presmaster combination is ideal for multichannel master control switching and branding because it's so scalable and flexible, and its price/performance is unmatched."

This new installation will include three Miranda Presmaster 2 HD/SD master control switching and channel branding panels and eight fully equipped Imagestore SDI master control and channel branding processors. The Presmaster 2 is a full-featured panel capable of controlling up to 200 transmission channels in total. Each Imagestore processor provides the entire breadth of mixing and on-air graphics capabilities required for dynamic and engaging presentation, including video and audio mixing, clip playout, dual 3D-DVEs, animation/clock insertion, and automated character generation.

In the presentation rooms that manage the playout of the seven channels, IB3 will add Miranda's 32-input Kaleido-K2 multi-image display processors for signal monitoring. The Kaleido-K2 system will operate in conjunction with a UMD system developed by CROSSPOiNT, which provides signal names and tallies from production mixers and routing switchers. Capable of handling up to 32 video inputs, Miranda's Kaleido-K2 is a robust, high-resolution display processor that incorporates all the features characteristic of a monitor wall into a single display.
