Making Awesome iMovies CD-ROM announces the release of its newest product -- a CD-ROM-based course on creating desktop movies called Making Awesome iMovies, shipping at an introductory price of $29.95. iMovie is Apple's video editing software that comes installed on every new iMac, iBook, PowerMac G4 and PowerBook G4, enabling Macintosh users to import video from their camcorders and edit their own movies.

With a FireWire-equipped DV camcorder like Canon's ZR20, and an Apple iMac including iMovie software, a complete, all-digital desktop movie studio can be purchased for around $1,500.

"Making Awesome iMovies" includes sections on planning, camcorder operation, shooting aesthetics, lighting, and location audio. A 45 minute tutorial on iMovie follows, showing professional editing techniques used in Hollywood films, and how to add titles, filters, special effects, transitions, music and sound effects to enhance a video project.

Finally, "Making Awesome iMovies" shows how to export a finished movie back to the camcorder, make a VHS tape copy, export to QuickTime for email, the Web or CD-R, create a free iTools account, upload a movie, and export for iDVD, Apple's new free DVD authoring software.
