"When I first told people about my plan to train recovering addicts for a 10K race I got a lot of puzzled looks. But, when you think about, it these guys are people like you and me; it's just that their problems are amplified, Gerry commented. He continued, At the core of it, it's how you handle problems that define your character. Thats what these guys demonstrate when they take up the running challenge."
Gerry, or Barnaby, as hes known locally, will be updating the web community on the progress of the runners and sharing his observations and insights on the road to better health. He regularly goes along on runs with the group. He noted, "Everyone wants to be fit. After years of addiction these guys have a tall hill to climb but the lesson we can all take away from this is that if they can exercise four days a week then the rest of us certainly can."
