This is a big step that underscores our commitment to the broader goal of healthcare inter-connectivity including Blue Button Plus, Health Information Exchanges, and DIRECT protocol, says Randy Farr, CEO of Healthspek.
This is groundbreaking. Finally a patient can order her doctor to send her records electronically. And we've made it simple.
We believe that the future of healthcare interconnectivity will be patient driven. When a patient initiates a request, or takes the action to send her medical record, there are no issues with permissions or identity.
These two issues, patient permission and identity, absolutely plague the current efforts of HIEs and consortia in trying to effect doctor-to-doctor transfer of patient information, says Bruce LeFew COO of Healthspek.
