Hawking Technologies Introduces HBB1 Broadband BoosterManage and boost the performance of home and office internet applications by up to 400% (June 28, 2005)
Hawking Technologies' HBB1 Broadband Booster
The Hawking Broadband Booster features StreamEngine Technology from Ubicom to manage and streamline outgoing data traffic from any Broadband network. Applications such as, VoIP internet phone calls, online console or computer gaming, file sharing, e-mail, web surfing, instant messaging, peer-to-peer programs and web cameras are used daily in home and office networks. These applications compete for access to the limited bandwidth of internet connections. Even with broadband internet access, network traffic congestion caused by multiple applications sharing a single connection can result in poor VoIP quality, choppy web video, and ?laggy or unresponsive online game play. Hawkings Broadband Booster constantly analyzes data packets traveling out of your network and identifies those that require ?boosting or prioritization due to their time-sensitive nature. These selected packets receive a clear, uninterrupted path to the internet resulting in a seamless internet experience for the end user. Whenever additional bandwidth is available on the network, it is used to transfer less urgent information such as documents being delivered through e-mail. The result is that a person can send e-mail, upload files, browse the internet, participate in a video conference and simultaneously play an online game without losing responsiveness in game play, disrupting the video conference or degrading their internet experience.
"The majority of todays networks have multiple computers, which simultaneously run multiple, time-sensitive internet applications. Whether youre on a home network where the kids are playing Xbox games online, Mom is sending picture email attachments, and Dad is making a VoIP phone call, or an office network where video conference calls are running concurrently with internet security cameras that monitor the warehouse, the Broadband Booster ensures the high performance for internet applications that is expected by all users. When consumers purchase a web cam or uses Skype/VoIP they expect the experience to be flawless and not choppy and incomprehensible. The Broadband Booster is a unique product that will give consumers the type of internet experience that they expect: a seamless one." says Jason Owen, Senior Product Development Manger at Hawking Technologies.
Gaming lag often renders games unplayable due to slow network response times. The Broadband Booster has been developed with specific algorithms that prioritize data from online games, thus eliminating all gaming ?lag.
Installation of the Broadband Booster is plug and play. It sits between an ISP modem (any Ethernet Based ISP i.e. Cable or DSL) and a network router. Once powered, the Broadband Booster automatically configures itself to optimize your network performance.

The HBB1 Hawking Broadband Booster begins shipping July 1st, 2005 via retailers, direct marketers, e-commerce sites, and distribution channels at a MSRP of $89.99 and an Estimated Street Price (ESP) of $69.99.
