Harris Corporation To Showcase Breadth Of 3Gb/s Capability For Emerging HDTV Format At NAB2007(February 13, 2007)
DMN Newswire--2007-2-13-- Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and technology company, will extend its industry-leading position in high-definition (HD) broadcast solutions when it showcases its breadth of 3Gb/s support across its signal processing and distribution product portfolio at the 2007 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention being held April 16-19 in Las Vegas. The 3Gb/s bandwidth capability enables broadcasters to migrate from the existing 720p and 1080i HDTV standards to the emerging 1080p format.
"Customers that are looking to upgrade their broadcast facilities to HD naturally want to be sure that their investment will carry them through the inevitable technology shifts," said Tim Thorsteinson, president of the Harris Broadcast Communications Division. "The market for cost-effective, HD-compatible products that support not only 720p and 1080i, but also emerging standards such as 1080p, is one that manufacturers must begin to seriously address."
Visitors to the Harris booth at NAB2007 will see 3Gb/s capability throughout the core processing workflow, including in the company's award-winning X75HD multiple-path converter/synchronizer, an all-in-one, 1RU solution for adaptable ingest and emission applications; distribution amplifiers in the high-quality 6800+ modular core processing platform; the best-selling Panacea routing switcher for small routing applications; and the Platinum and Platinum MX routing switchers, which provide high-quality signal routing up to 128x128 in 9RU, 256x256 in 15RU and 512x512 in 28RU, and support a mix of any signal all in the same frame.
