Hampton and Adair Score Fox Hit Sit-Com STACKED

Principals of Commercial Music House Emoto Continue Crossover Success in TV
Award-winning composers Steve ?Bone Hampton and John Adair are currently scoring the first season of STACKED, starring Pamela Anderson, Steve Levitans hit comedy for Fox Television. The show also stars Elon Gold, Christopher Lloyd, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Brian Scolari.

STACKED is the latest addition to a growing list of high profile assignments for Hampton and Adair spanning television, commercials, feature films and the recording industry. The composers, who write for STACKED and other television series through Hampton-Adair Music, are also the principals of Emoto, which provides original music production, licensing and a variety of other services to the advertising industry. Through Hampton-Adair Music, the pair have racked up a slew of BMI and ASCAP awards for such shows as JUST SHOOT ME and 8 SIMPLE RULES. Via Emoto, they regularly turn out cutting edge scores for ads promoting such familiar brands as Lexus, Adidas, Mountain Dew, T-Mobile and EBay.

Pamela Anderson is the star of Stacked.

Not too long ago, it was almost unheard of for commercial composers to successfully crossover into episodic television, but that is becoming increasingly less true. ?The old boundaries have faded away, said Hampton. ?As creative artists, we want to work in different mediums, and the skills we have developed in the advertising world?the ability to work quickly and in a variety of genres?applies very well to TV. Our television clients are looking for innovative sounds and something that captures the personality of their show, that can brand it. That is a process that we understand very well.

The composers ability to succinctly capture a shows personality is evident in the sweet, wistful main title theme they created for STACKED.  ?Steve and John submitted several songs, but there was one that the producers were particularly passionate about, recalled Hampton/Adair Music producer Brad Hamilton, who also serves as a music consultant on the show. ?It expressed the heart and spirit of the show.

Show cues for STACKED are recorded live at Hampton-Adairs studio in Santa Monica. The two composers along with a pair of accompanists perform to picture. The ?live setting provides a freshness to the score and leaves room for improvisation. ?The show has a cool sound. Its very light, said Hamilton. ?The bookstore environment provided the inspiration. From there, we chose instrumentation that allowed us to create a wide variety of moods.

STACKED is a 20th Century Fox Television Production. Steven Levitan and Jeffrey Richman serve as executive producers. Heide Pearlman and Steve Lloyd are co-executive producers.

Hampton-Adair Music is located at 1615 16th St. Santa Monica, CA 90404; (310) 399-6900.
