Haaretz Newspaper Launches Digital Subscriptions and New Website(May 16, 2012)
New York, NY, May 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Haaretz, the leading source for news on Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world, this week introduced digital subscriptions and a new website to readers worldwide. With the move, Haaretz becomes Israel’s first news organization to move to a paid digital distribution model. The transition will enhance Haaretz’s digital presence, and provide Haaretz’s award-winning journalism and expanded media content to audiences on a number of platforms.

Digital subscribers will have unlimited access to Haaretz.com, Haaretz mobile applications for iPhone and Android smartphones, the Haaretz digital news archives, full digital versions of the daily print edition, and other multimedia content produced daily – including journalist and editor blogs, videos, and online forums. Subscribers will also get the upcoming Haaretz iPad app, designed by leading developers in the media-publishing app industry.

Haaretz users will be asked to register to receive free access to a limited number of articles each month. Once readers have reached their monthly limit of free content, they will be asked to become Haaretz digital subscribers to get additional articles and content. Existing subscribers of the Haaretz print edition will continue to receive free and unlimited access to Haaretz.com and all Haaretz digital offerings. Haaretz-International Herald Tribune print subscribers will also receive free access to NYTimes.com.
