HCL AXON Launches iControl, a Utility Web Enablement Solution for Customer Billing and AMI(May 14, 2010)
JERSEY CITY, NJ -- (Marketwire) -- 05/14/10 -- HCL AXON, a division of HCL Technologies and a provider of business transformation consulting services through the innovative implementation and support of SAP applications, announces the development of iControl, a comprehensive Web Enablement and Smart Meter Application to support the emerging Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) markets for North America and abroad. iControl is a integrated offering for Utilities who want to empower their customers with AMI data to drive energy efficiency.
HCL AXON is focused on "Smart Energy." Markets around the globe are developing new tools for mandates and tariffs local governments are requiring from their energy providers. This includes Smart Grids, Smart Meters and other new products that focus on energy distribution. iControl was conceived with the goal of adding the most important piece to Smart Energy -- "The Smart Consumer." iControl creates a true customer experience. It goes where the customer goes: on the web, on their smart phone, on their in-home device display, and of course, on their iPhone or iPAD. iControl brings the information to the customer in a way that fits any lifestyle.
HCL AXON wanted to create a solution with the customer experience in mind. iControl enables the customer to have information real-time, all the time including product/tariff re-pricing and period-to-date costing that shows the customer the dollars and cents of their energy usage throughout the day/night. Features of iControl include real-time voltage checks, current consumption, and access to in-home devices and smart applications. HCL AXON and iControl give the customer the power to affect their usage and ultimately save money.
"As a comprehensive customer interaction portal, iControl will truly put the customer in control of their account and energy usage," commented Richard Minney, Head of Products for HCL AXON. "Our recent participation in the SAP lighthouse council has fully validated the need for iControl. The Lighthouse Council is made up of key customers and partners who demand that new market requirements are being address by SAP or their Partner Ecosystem."
