Group Logic Updates Print Sharing Suite

ExtremeZ-IP gains performance, administrative enhancements By Dave Nagel
Group Logic has released ExtremeZ-IP 2.1. ExtremeZ-IP is a Windows to Macintosh file and print sharing product that uses TCP/IP to mix Macintosh clients with Microsoft Windows servers. The new version adds several administrative functions and performance optimizations. It's available now as a free upgrade for registered users.

ExtremeZ-IP 2.1 adds several enhancements to the Administrator application. System status information is now immediately available from the application's primary interface, and administrators gain detailed information and control over users, files, volumes, print queues and individual print jobs. Other enhancements include:

  • Performance gains from directory index optimizations
  • Improved support for the Service Location Protocol
  • Better support for LPR printers
  • Enhanced Windows Explorer plugin for managing Macintosh file permissions.
