Group Logic Updates ExtremeZ-IPNew version updates Mac OS X print server support
ExtremeZ-IP is a print- and file-sharing utility designed to provide "faster, easier, more stable and more compatible connections" between Macintosh and Windows using AppleShareIP, according to the company. It includes two components--File Server and IP Print Server. The print component is designed to allow Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X clients to spool PostScript jobs using TCP/IP to printers managed by Windows systems. Group Logic says the new version integrates seamlessly with the Mac OS X printing architecture and offers several additional printing features, including Rendezvous support, queue management, detailed job logging, automated PostScript Printer Driver downloading, redundancy when used with Windows clusters and support for numerous Windows print services. The File Server upgrade provides password expiration notification to the user based on the Active Directory password policies and greater permissions control. Version 3.1 also adds support for the latest Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.
ExtremeZ-IP 3.1 is available now as a free update for customers using version 3.0 or those still on maintenance contracts from earlier releases. Pricing for the full version (File Server and IP Print Server) ranges from $1,113 for a 10-workstation license to $6,620 for an unlimited client/server license. Other configurations are also available. For more information, visit http://www.grouplogic.com.
