Grass Valley HD Technology Follows the Bouncing Ball For 2010 NBA Playoffs

DMN Newswire--2010-5-4--The 2010 NBA Playoffs began on April 18 and is being broadcast live on ABC, ESPN, TNT, and NBA TV using the latest Grass Valley(tm) high-definition production technology.

Veteran mobile production companies Game Creek Video (based in Hudson N.H.) and NEP Supershooters
(Pittsburgh, Penn.) are both providing several of their respective HD production vehicles on site at
various venues around the country, which use Grass Valley technology to help televise the games live.

Game Creek is supplying its Freedom, Liberty, Patriot, and Yankee Clipper HD trucks at various venues
around the country to cover the regional NBA playoff action for ESPN and ABC. These trucks each carry
either a Grass Valley Kayenne(tm) or Kalypso(tm) HD Video Production Center. Game Creek Liberty, with
its Grass Valley Kayenne HD Video Production Center will be covering the NBA Eastern Conference Finals
for ESPN and ABC. Game Creek Video's Liberty and Patriot will be covering the NBA Finals for NBA TV.


NEP Supershooters is providing its SS25 and ND4 trucks for ESPN and SS24 and ND4 trucks for TNT.
The SS25 truck will be used by ESPN for the Conference Finals and Championship Final rounds of the
playoffs and carries a Grass Valley Kalypso switcher, more than a dozen Grass Valley LDK 8000 Elite WorldCam HD cameras, as well as Grass Valley Trinix(tm) and Concerto(tm) Series routing switchers.

ESPN and ABC have once again contracted rental equipment supplier Bexel, which will use two Grass Valley
LDK 8300 3X Super SloMo HD cameras during the NBA playoffs for their respective productions.

For the initial Divisional Series playoff rounds, Turner Sports will use NEP's SS24 HD, which is one of
the largest in the country and is comprised of two 53-foot double expando trailers. It features a Grass Valley
Kalypso HD production switcher as well as Trinix and Concerto Series routers.

Both ESPN and TNT will also use NEP's ND4 truck to support various televised activities surrounding the games.It carries a Kalypso HD switcher, a Trinix video router, and numerous Grass Valley GeckoFlex(tm) signal processing modules (e.g., frame syncs, encoders, and up/down converters).
