Granite Digital Ships G5 Macintosh SATA Dual Drive Internal Mounting Kit

Doubles the Internal Storage Capacity of an Apple G5 (July 07, 2006)

Granite Digital, a leading manufacturer of SATA, FireWire, and SCSI storage solutions, today announced it has begun shipping a SATA Dual Drive Internal Mounting Kit for the G5 Apple Macintosh capable of addressing 1.5 Terabytes in either JBOD, RAID 1, or RAID 0 configurations. Support for both the older (PCI) model G5 and the newer (PCI-e) is provided in two separate models. All SATA I and II drive mechanisms are supported at speeds up to 300MB/s per channel.

The kit includes: SATA PCI or PCI-e 2 Channel Host Adapter, Driver CD, 2 internal SATA Data cables, SATA power cable, Aluminum Mounting Bracket, Screws, and a Color Installation Manual.

"This is by far the most cost effective way ($99.00) to add addition storage capabilities to a G5 Macintosh," said Frank Gabrielli, President of Granite Digital. "The Aluminum Bracket mounts in minutes and provides ultra cool operation of even the highest performance drives. Additionally the new 300MB/s SATA II Host Adapter is the fastest storage solution available with 300MB/s... per channel. Typical RAID 0 configurations provides sustained data transfer rates in excess of 120MB/s using only two drives."
