Granicus to Unveil a New Product at the International Institute of Municipal Clerks Conference on May 8(May 03, 2011)
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 03, 2011
Granicus, the leading cloud platform provider for government transparency, efficiency, and citizen participation, is expected to unveil a new legislative management product at the worlds largest conference for local government clerks, the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) Conference on May 8-12 in Nashville, TN. The new offering is expected to give government agencies the tools they need to manage large volumes of legislative information with maximum cost-efficiency and transparency for the public. This product announcement follows Granicus recent release of iLegislate last month, which allows government officials to connect agenda data to the iPad to boost productivity in the legislative process.
Already, Granicus solutions help over 850 government agencies manage their legislative data with greater openness and efficiency through workflow automation and public engagement tools including video, search, and collaboration. The new product will expand these tools with another layer of automation to further streamline legislative management from start to finish, giving agencies the power to choose a single solution, from a single provider. Granicus will also continue to support and enhance compatibility with third party solutions through its Open Platform API this will guarantee agencies still have the option of integrating with the systems and tools that work best for them. To reinforce its commitment to providing an open architecture, Granicus plans to release up to 10 new integrations with industry leading government applications this year.
This product unveiling comes as more and more government agencies look for ways to reduce complexity and costs in their policy-making processes, said Tom Spengler, Granicus CEO & Co-Founder. There has been much anticipation from our customers about this tool and the new direction Granicus will be taking with our legislative solutions. This is all due to the fact that government agencies continue to be dependent on paper-heavy, cumbersome public meeting processes in order to define, deliberate, and pass policy that impacts the lives and tax dollars of their citizens. In many cases these inefficiencies are hindering the process.
Today, Granicus manages nearly 1.5 million government records and media files, totaling 115 terabytes of data, to ensure its completely transparent and conveniently accessible to the public across multiple platformsmobile, Macs, and PCswith minimal downtime.
Were extremely pleased to reveal even more robust legislative features in our product and platform to help government effectively manage the enormous amounts of legislative information they need to process on a daily basis, said Javier Muniz, Granicus CTO & Co-Founder. This is a huge milestone for us and is the start of something new and exciting for legislative workflows.
