Global Student Animation Awards Entry Deadlines ApproachingJune 1st: deadline for regular entries, June 7th: deadline for pre-registered entries (May 12, 2005)
The first annual GSA Awards are off to a fast start with entries arriving from student animators and designers from around the world. “Students are smart. They know a good thing when they see it,” says Greg Robins, publisher of Stash DVD Magazine, “The GSA Awards offer unprecedented opportunity and prizes and the judges are some of the most creative and influential people in the business.”
Another fact setting the GSA Awards apart is the goal of connecting talented students with the industry by setting up winners with interviews at the companies they most want to work for. Stash DVD Magazine will also kick in up to US$1000 toward travel costs to help get each of the winners to their interview.
“We’re excited about giving the world’s animation and visual effects students a real showcase for their work and a pipeline to careers in the industry,” says Robins, “For some amazing students out there this really is the most important animation competition they’ll ever enter.”
Students are encouraged to enter their current or past projects (produced during 2004 or 2005) in one of three GSA Awards categories; Animation, Visual Effects and Motion Design and be prepared to win:
OPPORTUNITY: A job interview at the company you most want to work for. Plus, receive up to US $1,000 to get you there.
THE ULTIMATE TROPHY: A personally engraved Apple G5 Dual Processor with 20” Apple Monitor*, the latest versions* of Maya, boujou, combustion, Adobe CS and AfterEffects, plus subscriptions to Stash DVD Magazine.
RECOGNITION: Your work featured in Stash DVD Magazine, delivered to over 1,000 of the industry’s most influential players. One finalist will be selected as the Best of 2005 and their project will grace the cover of Stash.
