Global Capacity Hires Experienced Sales Executive John Powell as EVP of Sales(December 20, 2011)
CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 12/20/11 -- Global Capacity, the world's leading telecommunications information and logistics company, announces the addition of John Powell as its Executive Vice President of Sales.
Prior to joining Global Capacity, John served as Vice President of Channels and Business Development at Tata Communications. He has over 25 years of experience in information technology and telecommunications, and has successfully built world-class sales teams as a Sales Vice President at Infonet (now BT Global Services), Equant (now Orange Business Services) and Virtela, where he also served as the company's interim President for two years. At Global Capacity, John will leverage his extensive sales experience to coordinate and be responsible for all aspects of the company's global sales activities and customer support.
Previously, John also served as Managing Director of ESG Communications, a wholesale packetized voice company, which he co-founded while at Infonet. Earlier in his career, he held management roles in finance and accounting, including a stint as CFO of Infonet USA. John began his career as an accounting manager with a subsidiary of NYNEX. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California, and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
