Gibson Unveils Traveling Songwriter Guitar at CES

The world's first professional travel acoustic designed by Gibson Guitar (December 31, 2004)

Gibson Guitar's Acoustic division has created the world's first professional-quality travel acoustic guitar. The Gibson Traveling Songwriter delivers everything a working, performing songwriter needs in a guitar by combining a travel-friendly design with great acoustic sound unplugged or amplified.

The Gibson Acoustic Traveling Songwriter features a unique body style that is thin but hollow. The Sitka spruce top is designed with dome construction and the same scalloped bracing pattern as Gibsons from the 1930s, for true acoustic tone. The body shape, from Gibson's historic square-shoulder family, along with the famous Moustache bridge, give the Traveling Songwriter an unmistakably Gibson look.

The Traveling Songwriter is perfect for virtually any performing or songwriting situation. Its rear soundhole provides the player with enhanced acoustic volume in quiet settings such as a home or office. For stage use, the pickup and onboard 4-band EQ and volume controls provide the songwriter with full live performance capability.

The Gibson Traveling Songwriter is the only professional-quality designed guitar for easy travel. It comes with a custom travel case with a built-in guitar tuner. The thin body and slightly shortened headstock allow it to fit easily into spaces that won't accommodate a full-depth guitar in a hardshell case. MSRP for the model is $3,386.
