Genuine Fractals and PrintPro Get OS X Patch

Software encodes images for scalability By Dave Nagel
LizardTech this month released a Mac OS X patch for its Genuine Fractals and Genuine Fractals PrintPro 2.5 software. Both programs were previously owned by the Altamira Group. The updates are available now for free from LizardTech's Web site.

Genuine Fractals technology is designed to encode images to allow them to be expanded up to 600 percent without image degradation. Genuine Fractals 2.5 renders RGB, multichannel and grayscale images. GF PrintPro 2.5 handles RGB, CMYK, CIE-LAB, multichannel (up to 16 channels) and grayscale images. Both function as plugins for Adobe Photoshop.

According to LizardTech, the OS X update should be used only by those working in OS X exclusively. The patches will not allow the software to run in Mac OS 8/9 once updated; nor will the software run in Classic mode. For more information or to download the update, visit
