Gentner Introduces V-There Video Conferencing Product FamilySet-top system allows Web information to be included during conferencing (October 23, 2001)
V-There includes many unique features not traditionally found in competing products. Based on Gentner's VuLink video conferencing platform, V-There extends the data sharing and collaboration benefits of VuLink, adds wireless support, and integrates Gentner-quality audio.
Exclusive to the V-There product line is its ability to facilitate web browsing and the sharing of HTML information between participants during a video conference to enable collaboration. V-There's field-configurable Remote Camera System brings the flexibility of an integrated unit with a detachable camera to create a variety of installation alternatives and a small, sleek footprint.
V-There's higher H.323 data transfer rates provide the ability to seamlessly share data in H.323 calls. XGA input simplifies the sharing of PC graphics during a video conference call and S-Video input and output delivers sharp video images. Through the integration of Gentner's Accumic audio technology, video conference calls are now supported with Gentner's proprietary Distribute Echo Cancellation® and noise cancellation technologies. These technologies are key to providing the sound quality that has established Gentner as the leader in high-end audio conferencing.
"I'm impressed by the benefits I see in Gentner's V-There product," said Bill Mullin, communications consultant for the audio/visual integration firm United Visual Inc. (Chicago). "Customers want to go beyond the I-see-you, you-see-me, talking-head experience. They want to effectively make PowerPoint® presentations and show applications to distant-site work groups. They want the ability to web-browse in the conferencing environment to facilitate research-based e-meetings. And they want it all at computer resolutions. Gentner's product delivers."
"The V-There product line enhances the overall video conferencing experience by delivering top quality sound and seamless information sharing as a natural part of video calls," said Frances Flood, president and chief executive officer of Gentner. "The V-There set-top product is the second in a series of products that will continue to raise the video conferencing bar in terms of delivering increased benefit to the end-user."
V-There will be featured in Gentner's booth (#1428) at the TeleCon tradeshow in Anaheim, Calif. on Oct. 23-25, 2001.
