GenArts Congratulates Academy Awards Nominees

All three nominees for Best Visual Effects Oscars benefited from Sapphire Plug-ins (February 24, 2005)

GenArts Inc., a leading provider of digital visual effects plug-ins for the film, broadcast and video industry, would like to congratulate its film customers for their outstanding work on the productions nominated for the 77th Annual Academy Awards.

In particular, GenArts would like to congratulate the three movies selected for this years ?Best Visual Effects Academy Award which include Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, I, Robot and Spider-Man 2. Sapphire Plug-ins from GenArts were incorporated into all three of these films.

According to Lisa Deaner, Senior Lead Inferno Artist at Sony, ?GenArts' Sapphire Glows and RackDefocus were indispensable on Spider-Man 2. We used Sapphire Glows not only for breathtaking light-blooming effects, but also for detailed edge-integrated realism. I reach for all the plug-ins so often that it feels as though they are part of the Flame software itself, not a separate tool-set.

?We continue to be impressed by the creative work of our customers, and we are once again proud to play even a small part in their success, said Karl Sims, GenArts' President and Founder.
