Garrett Brown to Receive GTCs Television Cameramans AwardInventor of Steadicam honored by UK-based Guild of Television Cameramen (September 07, 2005)
Garrett Brown, who revolutionized moviemaking with his invention of the original Steadicam camera stabilizing system, is to be the recipient of the ?Television Cameramans Award by the UK based Guild of Television Cameramen (GTC).
According to Guild Chairman, David Ballantyne, the award is being presented to ?an individual who, in the opinion of the Council, has furthered the cause of the Guild by fostering and improving the art and craft of the professional cameraman over many years. Brown will be presented with his award in London on October 1st at the Guilds banquet.
Brown is a recipient of an Academy award and has been honored for his technical achievements in the motion picture and television industries.
