GL Conveys the Availability of its Product PacketCheck Software Ethernet Tester(June 14, 2012)
Gaithersburg, Maryland (PRWEB) June 14, 2012
GL Communications Inc. a leader in providing PC-based test, analysis and simulation products and consulting services to the worldwide telecommunications industry, conveyed today the availability of its product PacketCheck - Software Ethernet Tester.
Speaking to media persons, Mr. Jagdish Vadalia Senior Manager said, GL's PacketCheck is a comprehensive PC based Ethernet / IP test tool with BERT and Throughput testing abilities. It is very easy to use as a general purpose network performance analysis tool for 10Mbps, 100Mbps and 1Gbps LANs and WANs. It truly takes confusion out of Ethernet testing at all protocol layers - from raw Ethernet frames to IP/UDP packets. The application makes use of PCs network interface card (NIC) to transmit and receive Ethernet or IP packets over the network. Throughput up to 800 Mbps can be easily tested.
He added, PacketCheck generates multi stream Ethernet/IP/UDP traffic with on-demand bandwidth (up to 800 Mbps) and measures end to end performance such as Byte Error Rate, Total Packets, Packet loss, Out of Sequence Packets, and Erred Packets. Additional features include transmit HDL file traffic, a new traffic generation mode i.e. the IFG (Inter Frame Gap). Also included is BER testing capability with provision to generate PRBS patterns or userdefined test patterns.
Mr. Vadalia further added, PacketCheck supports features like transmission of prerecorded file traffic, which can duplicate packet traffic as it occurred at a particular Ethernet interface. It also includes a Command Line Interface (CLI) to support all the GUI functionalities of PacketCheck through simple commands, allowing easy scripting and automation of the testing. Also included is a powerful Report Generation feature to view report in CSV and PDF formats. It can operate on any of the layers - Layer 1 (Physical), Layer 2 (Data Link), Layer 3 (Network), and Layer 4 (Transport) of the OSI reference model.
·PC based Ethernet Tester which can generate/receive Ethernet or IP traffic of up to 800 Mbps bandwidth.
·User Defined test patterns up to 24 bytes length
·Simulate real-world traffic (such as IPTV, RTP,) by transmitting pre-captured GL proprietary HDL files
·Capability to generate various per stream Impairments Insert/Delete Bytes, and Byte Level Impairments (AND, OR, XOR).
·Run time impairments generation of various impairments types like Insert/Delete Bytes, Change Bytes etc
·Capability to generate/respond to ARP requests, making it easy to work with Routers
·Jumbo frames are supported, in addition to all normal frame sizes from 64 bytes to 1518 bytes
·Customizable protocol headers like MAC Source/Destination address, Length/Type field, IP Source/destination address, and UDP Source/Destination Port.
·Full flexibility to control per stream traffic duration
·Monitor performance statistics throughput, round trip delay (RTD), total packets, packet loss, out of sequence frames, error frames, correct pattern frames, pattern sync status, byte error rate, sync loss count, error count etc.
·Command Line Interface (CLI) allowing remote execution of commands for all functionalities through GLs proprietary WCS (Windows Client Server) architecture.
·Powerful Report Generation feature to generate reports in CSV / PDF formats which include various test details like Statistics, Configuration Information, NIC card details information and others
· Determine the maximum IP bandwidth consumption, throughput, errors rates in a LAN / WAN
·Determine Round Trip Delay (RTD) between two IP address or two Ethernet MAC addresses with microsecond accuracy
·Testing LAN Data Switch for dropped packets, errors, overload, and so on
·Detection of traffic overload
·Testing network behavior with real world traffic like IPTV, VoIP and more
·Test CAT 6 / CAT 5 cables for efficiency
About GL Communications Inc.,
Founded in 1986, GL Communications Inc. is a leading supplier of test, monitoring, and analysis equipment for TDM, Wireless, IP and VoIP networks. Unlike conventional test equipment, GL's test platforms provide visualization, capture, storage, and convenient features like portability, remotability, and scripting.
GLs TDM Analysis & Emulation line of products includes T1, E1, T3, E3, OC-3, OC-12, STM-1, STM-4, analog four-wire, and analog two-wire interface cards, external portable pods, and complete system solutions. Capabilities include voiceband traffic analysis and emulation across all traffic types (voice, digits, tones, fax, modem), all protocols (ISDN, SS7, GR-303, Frame Relay, HDLC, V5.X, ATM, GSM, GPRS, LTE, etc.), and with capacities up to thousands of channels. Our newest products provide astonishing capacity and capture capability up to and including gigabit speeds.
GLs VoIP and IP products generate / analyze thousands of calls and traffic simultaneously with traffic types such as frames, packets, voice files, digits, video, tones, noise, and fax. Almost all codecs are supported including G.711, G.729, AMR, EVRC-A,B,C, GSM, iSAC, and many more. Additional features include visual analysis, real-time listening, and recording. The product line also includes Ethernet / IP Testing capability that simulates and checks frame transport and throughput parameters of Ethernet and IP networks, including delay, errors and other impairments.
GL's Voice Quality Testing (VQT) product line complements all of GL's products. Using ITU-standard algorithms (PAMS, PSQM, and PESQ), GL's VQT provides a widely accepted solution for assessing voice quality in the telecom industry. Voice Quality Testing across multiple networks (T1, E1, T3, E3, OC-3, OC-12, VoIP, Wireless, and Landline) is available.
GLs Wireless Products perform protocol analysis and voice quality assessment on GSM, CDMA, UMTS, and LTE networks. Connections can be made to any wireless phone with automated call control, GPS mapping and real-time signal measurements.
GLs Echo Canceller testing solutions provide the broadest range of simulation and analysis, including line and acoustic echo. GLs compliance testing per G.168. G.167 and P.340 across TDM, IP, VoIP and Wireless networks is widely accepted in the industry.
GLs wireless VQT solutions help assessing impairments to voice quality such as poor mobile phone quality, voice compression and decompression algorithms, delay, loss and gain in speech levels, noise, acoustic and landline echo, and other distortions are easily assessed and accurately measured.
GLs Handheld data testers can test a wide variety of communications facilities and equipment including T1, fractional T1, E1, fractional E1, T3 and E3 modems, multiplexers, CSU, DSUs, T1 CSUs, DTUs, NTUs and TIUs and more. The testers provide convenience, economy, and portability for almost any interface, including RS232, RS-422, RS-530, X.21, T1, E1, T3, E3, and many others.
GLs Network Surveillance and Monitoring products include Probes for TDM, IP, VoIP, ATM, and Wireless networks. An open standards based approach provides a scalable, feature rich, real-time access to network characteristics. Centralized or distributed access, efficient transport and database loading allow compatibility with 3rd party and standards based monitoring systems.
