G-RAID Solutions Used During Broadcast of SuperBowl XXXIX(February 15, 2005)
G-Technology, Inc. (G-Tech) today announced that the companys award winning G-RAID disk storage solutions were used by FOX Sports during the broadcast of Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville, Florida.
G-RAID was deployed on Apple G5 workstations running Final Cut Pro HD with AJA Video Systems KONA 2 capture cards in production trucks onsite at Alltel Stadium. The editing systems were used prior to the championship game to produce content for the pre-game show. During the Super Bowl, the systems were used live to capture and edit 720p HD using the Panasonic 720p DVCPRO HD codec in Final Cut Pro HD. The edited material was then sent to a digital disk recorder (DDR) for instant replay or directly to air.
