Future Media Concepts to Offer Three Training Options for Final Cut Pro(R) X

(June 30, 2011)
DMN Newswire--2011-6-30--Future Media Concepts (FMC), the nation's premier digital media training organization, today announced that the company will be offering three unique training options for the recently released Apple(R) Final Cut Pro(R) X. To help editors learn and take advantage of the professional editing software's new features and workflows, FMC will provide 45-minute online training sessions; a one-day, hands-off workshop; and introductory and advanced courses, based on Apple's official curriculum when it is released.

Available beginning July 1, "FCP -- A Complete Overview" is a 45-minute online seminar designed to give editors a head start on the new Final Cut Pro X. The session will demonstrate in detail the software's major new features, from workflow and editorial through analysis and color correction. The sessions are offered at a low cost of $10, a fee which can be applied as a credit towards any future FMC class or seminar in the next year.

FMC will also be offering "Migrating to FCP X," a one-day, hands-off workshop designed to help editors dive deeper into Final Cut Pro X. The workshop will cover the entire software operation from capture to output, including workflow and background rendering; content detection and repair; strategies to understand the new paradigms around editing such as compound clips and the magnetic timeline; and the changes with effects, including color correction. The workshop is available July 11 in New York, July 12 in Philadelphia, and July 13 in Washington D.C. Like the 45-minute online sessions, the $299 fee for "Migrating to FCP X" can be applied to future FMC classes or seminars.

"FCP X 101 -- An Introduction to FCP X" will be offered as a three-day or five-day option and will be available upon release of official courseware by Apple, which is anticipated later this summer. In the introductory option, participants will receive a thorough overview of all features of Final Cut Pro X using an ideal combination of instructor-led demonstrations and supervised hands-on practice. The entire software workflow will be covered in depth, from capture through editing, transitions, motion graphics, color correction, sound finishing, and output.

"We are very excited for the release of Final Cut Pro X, which has been redesigned from the ground up to include many powerful new features and workflows. To take advantage of all the software has to offer, our three training options allow editors to choose the learning format that is best for them, whether it be online, hands-on, or hands-off," said Jeff Rothberg, president and co-founder of Future Media Concepts. "In addition, as the cost of the 45-minute online sessions and one-day workshop can be credited to the three-day class, those offerings are essentially free. This allows editors to take all three programs for the price of one."
