Future Media Concepts Teams Up With NAB Show to Offer Certified Production and Post Training Program at 2012 NAB ShowAdvanced Classes Taught by Certified Instructors Support Career Goals of Working Professionals (February 14, 2012)
NEW YORK -- Feb. 14, 2012 -- Future Media Concepts (FMC), the nation's premier digital media training organization, announced today that the company will once again team up with the NAB Show to offer Post|Production World, a full slate of manufacturer-certified training courses for production and postproduction professionals, at the 2012 NAB Show April 14-19 in Las Vegas.
Now in its eighth year, Post|Production World is the world's leading training event for production and post professionals including editors, producers, directors, graphic artists, motion graphics designers, and new media specialists. It features more than 200 training sessions with learning formats that include half-day beginner boot camps, in-depth sessions, workshops, and full-day immersive programs.

New this year are "Focus On" workshops, which are daylong, in-depth sessions about specific topics led by people who are at the forefront of their industries. Workshop attendees will have an opportunity to explore a topic through discussions and Q&A with each other and the session leader. Topics include documentary editing, color correction and grading, video compression, and sound design and mixing.
This year's conference also features a new field trip opportunity led by video production and multimedia expert Richard Harrington. It's a session on HDSLR time-lapsed videography that culminates in a field trip to Red Rock Canyon outside Las Vegas. Attendees will learn techniques in the classroom during the day, and then practice what they learn by filming time-lapsed video of the Red Rock Canyon sunset that evening.
The third new offering this year is a mobile app development workshop. Led by Ontario Britton, an iOS programmer who is passionate about augmented reality and media-rich apps, this all-day workshop will teach attendees how to develop an effective mobile application, how to market an app to maximize its use, and how to manage a client's expectations around an app.
Post|Production World attendees may also register separately for an accelerated certification prep class followed by a certification exam for Apple(R) Final Cut Pro(R) X, Avid(R) Media Composer(R), and Adobe Premiere(R) Pro. Each prep course lasts two days, with the exam administered on the third day. Exam results are given instantly onsite.
Besides the presenters mentioned above, presenters also include Jeff Greenberg, principal instructor, FMC; Robbie Carman, colorist and vice president, Amigo Media LLC; Abba Shapiro, writer/producer/director, Shapiro Video & Multimedia, and Luisa Winters, certified Adobe instructor, FMC.
Except for the certification prep classes and exams, which require a separate registration, NAB Show attendees may purchase a Post|Production World registration or an NAB Show Smart Pass that allows them to move freely among any of the more than 200 sessions over five days with no preregistration required.
