Furman Sound To Introduce New Product at NAMM 2006IT-20 II Balanced Isolation Transformer to be introduced (December 15, 2005)
Designed for the most critical ultra-low-noise applications such as home or professional recording studios, broadcast stations, and video production facilities, the IT-20 II can supply 20 amps of balanced AC power with over 80 dB of common-mode noise reduction from a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, assuring the lowest noise floor possible from todays sensitive recording equipment.
This is important because harmonics, instrument timber, high-frequency extension, spatial cues, fast transient attacks, and other signals that provide resolution and depth to high-resolution audio and video are defined by low-level signals. When AC noise is induced into audio processors, pre-amplifiers, microphones, powered monitors, computers, and mixing consoles, these low-level signals are distorted or masked, and the lost content cannot be retrieved.
The solution is to prevent their loss in the first place. Furmans IT-20 II enables pro A/V facilities to experience levels of signal quality, far beyond what many realize is possible. In addition to its common-mode noise reduction, the IT-20 II also includes Furmans proprietary Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT), which reduces transverse noise for even better results ? making it a comprehensive noise reduction solution. LiFT is part of Furmans unique SMP+ technology, which also includes non-sacrificial surge suppression and extreme voltage protection. Add a switchable ground isolator and a laboratory-grade digital voltmeter to this collection of features, and the IT-20 II makes problems caused by AC noise and surges a thing of the past.
About Furman Sound
Furman Sound is the world leader in the power conditioning market. The company began manufacturing products for the professional music industry in 1974 and since then has continually stretched the bounds of technology to provide AC power management solutions for a wide range of applications including sound reinforcement, audio/video recording, broadcasting, data processing, telecomm, and home theater, all while maintaining its place as the industry leader.
All Furman Sound products address the fact that AC power irregularities will not only interfere with the quality of audio and video signals, but can also damage and even destroy sensitive A/V equipment in professional and consumer applications. Todays overworked and outdated power grids have compounded these problems, as unpredictable and poor-quality AC power is now the norm. AC noise masks and distorts critical signal information, which in turn cripples performance. Furmans mission is to deliver the latest technology advances and the most advanced products to purify and clean the AC power while also protecting equipment.
Furmans latest technological advancement, Series Multi-Stage Protection Plus (SMP+), delivers the purest AC power and the most comprehensive protection available, going far beyond what is found in traditional surge strips. Furman Sound is nearly finished implementing SMP+ across the companys entire product line.
Furmans proprietary SMP+ employs three important technologies:
? LiFT (Linear Filtering Technology) ensures that all sensitive audio/video components are fed linearly filtered AC power. This dramatically reduces noise, ensuring consistent peak performance from A/V equipment.
? SMP (Series Multi-Stage Protection) stops electrical surges and spikes at greater levels than other available products without sacrificing itself, meaning it continues to do its job again and again without the need for maintenance, replacement, or replacement parts.
? EVS (Extreme Voltage Shutdown) responds to overvoltage conditions that would damage or destroy A/V equipment by shutting the system down.
