Fuji Debuts FinePix F402 Camera

Pocket-sized model offers 2.1 megapixel resolution By Dave Nagel
Fuji Photo Film has introduced its new FinePix F402, a pocket-sized digital camera with a 2.1 million pixel effective resolution. The camera will be available in November.

The camera uses Fujifilm's third-generation Super CCD sensor system to produce images up to 4 megapixels (2,304 x 1,728 pixels) and offers a digital zoom up to 3.6x. It weighs 4.4 ounces without batteries and measures 3" x 2.7" x 0.9". Other features include

  • AVI recording with sound (60 seconds at 320 x 240 with a 16MB xD-Picture Card;
  • Videoconferencing capability;
  • 64-zone TTL metering;
  • Fully automatic operation;
  • Equivalent SO sensitivities of 200, 400, 800 and 1600;
  • Shutter speeds of 1/2 second to 1/2,000 second;
  • Manual and automatic white balance;
  • A 1.5-inch LCD panel;
  • Macro capability.

The FinePix F402 comes bundled with an NP 40 battery, USB cable, hand strap, 16 MB xD-Picture Card, AC Power Adapter and Battery Charger, FinePixViewer and ImageMixer 1.0. It will be available in November for $349.95. For more information, visit
